With WebVR it has become easier and affordable to view and experience 360 photos with natural device movement and in Virtual Reality without having to install any app.

However, most of the mobile browsers support VR in experimental mode. And web VR mode is disabled by default. Because of this, you may experience that the 360 photos are not stable and shaky. The WebVR rendering is tied with the gyroscope hardware in the mobile phone. If WebVR is not enabled the browser won’t pass the gyroscope data to the scene making it behave erratically.

With WebVR gaining popularity desktop and mobile web browsers have started supporting rendering of 360 photos (not videos !) and you can enable the feature. Below are pointers on how to enable

Chrome

type chrome://flags in the address bar and search for WebVR as shown in the image below

Alternatively, install Chrome Canary on your mobile from this link

Microsoft Edge

WebVR is supported by default Microsoft Edge build 15002+. And for this to use you need to have Windows 10 Creators build. Get it here

Firefox

Mozilla is at forefront of evangelizing and spreading the use of WebVR. Hence if you download the latest build of Mozilla Firefox you’ll have it already enabled.

Safari

It works just out of the box. If it doesn’t write to us at hello@infivr.com

update: For Android phones, installing Google VR Services from play store will take care of all setup required for experiencing WebVR
